Time to Get Crabby

With the Blue Crab Festival in Little River
Daris Brown, Official Myrtle Beach Life Support Team | Blue Crab Festival

Blue Crab Festival

Grab your mallet, nutcracker and melted butter because the Blue Crab Festival is here again. It’s time to take the annual trip to Little River, SC, and pull up a seat on the waterfront – all with the hopes that your stomach is as big as your eyes. This is the largest events in Little River, and one of the biggest in the Grand Strand, and everyone invites you to come out May 17th and 18th and celebrate the 27th year of crab tasting.

Little River’s 27th Blue Crab Festival was started by locals as a way of getting together and having fun with others, all while keeping and promoting a local vibe. It’s the perfect outing for friends, families and people looking to meet new people. Walk around from tent to tent and discover unique gifts at one of the 150 local vendors. Show off your skills at all of the festival’s game stations. See the Grand Strand from a whole new perspective with a helicopter ride. Or simply hang out and listen to the live bands as you take advantage of another beautiful day in Little River. The Blue Crab Festival is a great weekend escape for people of all tastes.

With all the cool things to do, you almost forget about the great food that brought you to the festival in the first place – almost. Enjoy fresh crabs, seafood gumbo, crab cakes, various desserts, soft shell crabs and more. The Blue Crab Festival only costs $4.00 at the gate, but you can get tickets for as low as $3.00 if done in advance, and it’s a steal at either price. Kids 6 and under get in free.

This event is worth clearing you calendar for. It’s great food, gifts and games. And it’s all on the scenic waterfront. Grab everyone you know and escape with a trip to historic Little River. The local vibe will make you feel at home and except this time you won’t have to wash the dishes.
