Myrtle Beach Spring Break tops list of affordable destinations

Popular travel website Hotwire.com has ranked the Myrtle Beach area No. 1 on its list of the “11 most inexpensive spring vacation destinations for 2014.”

This list looked at destinations in the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean to come up with its list. Every single one of the destinations listed has an average nightly hotel room rate of under $150 and five — including Myrtle Beach — have a nightly rate under $100.

“One of the great things about the Myrtle Beach area is our wonderful accommodations truly are made to fit any budget,” said Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “By hitting No. 1 on this list, it simply reinforces our position that we are a family-friendly beach destination that everyone can come and enjoy.”

These are the top 11 destinations on the list, with the best hotel deals for March and April 2014.
