The North Carolina Oyster Fest takes place on Ocean Isle Beach on October 21 and 22. Why not include the Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium in your Oyster Fest weekend plans? The Museum is open on October 21 from 10 to 5.

The museum will feature an Interactive Train Show where children and adults alike can operate a toy train with operating accessories as well as Snakes Alive! featuring copper heads, king snakes, and more. Stop by and wander through the galleries. See the collections of shark jaws and sea shells. Watch a nesting sea turtle video that was filmed right on Ocean Isle Beach. See wonderful dioramas of local birds and wildlife.

Walk through the Ocean Reef gallery, one of the largest dry aquariums in this part of the country. Don’t forget about our live touch tank where you will have the opportunity to touch horseshoe crabs, hermit crabs, sea urchins, and more.
