Bridge2Bridge half-marathon, 12K and 5K races take place in Georgetown

http://youtu.be/R9cc9BNujgcThe Georgetown Bridge2Bridge Half Marathon and 5K went down Saturday morning, October 11 in historic Georgetown SC, and GoToMyrtleBeach.com was on location to get you in the middle of the action!

The runners began on Front Street in historic downtown Georgetown, passing by an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, and historic landmarks including the famous clock tower at the Rice museum. The course curved through residential areas and tree-lined streets, past the Black and Waccamaw Rivers, and then back to the finish line.

We met several really cool people at the race, including Tyler Cross and Larsyn Runion, an engaged couple who were ‘Racing to the Altar’, quite literally! The two were married following their completion of the 5K!

The 12K and Half marathon courses pressed on to Georgetown’s gateway bridges, crossing the Black and Waccamaw River bridges before returning to the finish line on Front Street.

A YMCA Kid’s Fun Run was also held, with children 6 years and and under tackling the 100-yard run and 7-12 year olds taking on the 1/4 mile.

We had a blast! Check out the video and tell us what you think
