Jetpack Adventures celebrates opening at North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex

There are lots of thrilling watersports in Myrtle Beach, but nothing quite like Jetpack Adventures.

This attraction, which allows visitors to literally walk on water as they hover above the water propelled by dual streams of water pumped through a jetpack strapped to the back, has quickly become one of the most unique and intriguing experiences on the Grand Strand.

After getting its feet during its first season in 2013, the attraction has found a new home for 2014 and recently relocated to the new North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex, located near the intersection of S.C. 31 and Main Street (Robert Edge Pkwy.) in North Myrtle Beach.

On June 11, North Myrtle Beach Mayor Marilyn Hatley joined Jetpack Adventures and North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce officials for a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of the attraction on a 25-acre lake at the complex.

Jetpack Adventures is the first of several potential businesses that will operate on the lake.

In addition to this new attraction the park, which opened in March, also features state-of-the-art sports facilities including baseball, softball, soccer and lacrosse fields as well as two dog parks, a walking path, ampitheatre and a huge playground for kids.

Myrtle Beach visitors look to try the unique jetpack experience can get in on the action for as little as $105 for 15 minutes, experience a 30-minute ride for $179 and various group or private excursion rates are also available.
