Myrtle Beach gets throwback rap and R&B station

Alpha Media, Myrtle Beach announced the launch of G 105.5 “Myrtle Beach’s The Throwback Station!” WRNN-AM 1450/105.5, previously ESPN, will play your favorite throwbacks like The Notorious B.I.G., Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, 2Pac, Destiny’s Child and many more.

Energy 92.1 Program Director, Zack Williams commented on the announcement, “We’re crazy excited to bring throwbacks to Myrtle Beach. You can take your radio to the beach, cruise up and down Ocean Blvd and have a great time listening to the best throwback Hip Hop and R&B!

“While I’ve been programming the alternative station here, I grew up listening to this music and DJ-ing in nightclubs and bars all throughout my life. This station is going to be a great addition to Myrtle Beach and the Alpha Media family,” said Ron Kissell, WKZQ 96.1 program director.
