These promotions, along with numerous others assure that the upcoming season at TicketReturn.Com Field at Pelicans Ballpark will be a memorable experience for fans of all ages.

Cubs‐A‐Palooza, a salute to the Pelicans major league affiliate and their 2016 World Championship season, is undoubtedly a bright spot on the Birds promotional line‐up.  The three‐day celebration will take place June 23‐25 at TicketReturn.Com Field.  Day one of the event will feature an appearance by Baseball Hall of Famer Andre Dawson, a.k.a.  ʺThe Hawkʺ (Chicago Cubs 1987‐1992), and a Taste of Chicago.  Day two includes an appearance by Bill Buckner (Chicago Cubs 1977‐1983), a Replica World Series Trophy Giveaway, and post‐game fireworks.  On the final day of event, Cubs‐A‐Palooza will transform into Cubstock, a Woodstock themed night with a Cubs twist.  The night will feature a Joe
Maddon inspired Groovy Bandana Giveaway and post‐game fireworks.

Another highlight of the promotional schedule is the Jason Heyward Talking Bobblehead Giveaway.  On July 15, the team will pay tribute to the former Pelican and reigning ʹKing of Rain Delaysʹ, a title Heyward earned after reports surfaced regarding the pep talk he delivered to his teammates during the rain delay in Game 7 of the World Series.

The Pelicans are bringing back the weekly theme nights that have become traditions on the Grand Strand. All Tuesdays are once again “Craft Tuesdays” with $2.00 craft draught beers served from 6‐8 p.m., while Wednesday home contests feature buy one, get one free Hebrew National hot dogs all game long. “Thirsty Thursdays” also return in 2017, with $1.00 Bud and Bud Light draughts and $2.00 cans from 6:00‐8:00 p.m.    This season brings a new weekly special to the line‐up with ʺFoodie Fridaysʺ.  Throughout the 11 Friday home games, fans will have the option to upgrade their game experience to enjoy the ʺFoodie Fridayʺ features.  These features include an oyster roast, shrimp
boil, pig pickinʹ, wings‐a‐palooza, and mre.

Returning for a fourth straight season are “Local Appreciation Saturdays,” in which locals can receive $3.00 off tickets by showing their local ID when purchasing tickets to Saturday games. Also returning to “Local Appreciation Saturdays” are post‐game fireworks and the chance for a local fan to win up to $50,000. Including all Saturday shows, Pelicans Ballpark will feature 21 total fireworks dates this year.  Twelve of the East Coast Pyrotechnics Fireworks Extravaganza shows will take place in June and July, with a celebration of America’s independence on July 4.

Weekend games at TicketReturn.Com Field will continue to feature “Embrace Veterans Saturdays,” in which the Pelicans will celebrate veterans of the Grand Strand, courtesy of Embrace Hospice. “Family Sundays” also invite all fans for a pre‐game on‐field catch.
“Backpack Buddies Mondays” will also return in 2017 courtesy of McDonaldʹs. All fans that donate an item from the approved Backpack Buddies Donation List (available here) will receive half price admission on Mondays.

All fans can also participate in a pre‐game autograph session before every
Monday‐Saturday home game for 15 minutes after the gates open. And following all 70 home games, kids 12 & under can run the bases.

The season opens with a bang on Thursday, April 13, at 7:05 p.m. with an East Coast Pyrotechnics Fireworks Extravaganza following the game. The opening series continues as the team celebrates their 2016 Carolina League Championship on April 14 with a Championship Banner Giveaway to the first 1,000 fans.  Saturday, April 15 will feature a Magnet Schedule Giveaway, post‐game fireworks, and Special Olympics Night.   The Birds will close out their opening series on Sunday as they celebrate Easter with an appearance by the Easter Bunny and a post‐game helicopter candy drop.
