Nature Connects Art with LEGO Bricks at Brookgreen Gardens

Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet SC is known for their amazing sculptures. Now you can see amazing sculptures made from LEGOs on the grounds.

The exhibit Nature Connects Art with LEGO Bricks is at Brookgreen Gardens through September 5, 2016.

This exhibit features 12 sculptures made from almost a half million LEGO bricks and is created by Sean Kenney, a renowned artist and children’s author.

There are educational components to this exhibit. Each sculpture has an interactive panel to help connect children to the natural world and promote conservation.

Children will also be able to play with LEGO bricks during their visit.

The exhibit is open daily and included in garden admission.

There are also several special events in connection with this exhibit.

  • “Build Your Own ‘Simply Amazing’ Creation” LEGO Sculpture Building Contest – May 30-June 3 – Create your own sculptures and submit via Facebook or Instagram with hashtags. For more details and complete rules, click here.
  • LEGO Robotic Celebration – May 14 11 a.m.-3 p.m. – Learn about the South Carolina First LEGO League and the Grand Strand Technology Council.
