Broadway at the Beach is bringing several new amusement park rides to the popular retail-entertainment complex in Myrtle Beach for 2014, including the Rocket Flyer towering to 180-feet high that passersby might have already spotted going up.
Other new rides include Speed XXL, Freak-Out and the Giant Slide, a dry slide that stands 65 feet tall and 180 feet long.
Amusement park rides have long been a part of Broadway’s offerings, including the Pavilion Nostalgia Park that pays homage to Myrtle Beach Pavilion Amusement Park which shut down for good after the 2006 season.
The Rocket Flyer has moved into the spot at the Pavilion Nostalgia Park that had been occupied by the Wave Swinger. That ride will move to another spot in Broadway, but it’s unclear where.
“We work hard throughout the year to attract new and exciting shopping, dining and attraction experiences for our guests to enjoy at Broadway at the Beach, keeping it fresh so that our guests will discover something new every year,” B&C’s Patrick Walsh said in a news release.
In addition to the rides, several new stores and restaurants are moving into Broadway this season.
