Short film shot in Murrells Inlet premiering in March at Grand 14 Movie Theater

The sleepy town of Murrells Inlet provided the setting for “Crab Trap,” a short film produced by Vanna White and directed by Shea Sizemore.

“Crab Trap” was shot on location in the area with actors Danny Vinson as Thirsty, and featuring Grant Goodeve, Rebecca Koon, John Voldstad, Dave Blamy and Sophia Miller.

The film follows Thirsty, an alcoholic trying to redeem himself in the eyes of his sister, Peru (Koon), who has custody of his only daughter Zoe (Sophia Miller). The story unfolds with a quiet crab dinner set against the backdrop of the South Carolina coast as Thirsty embarks on his quest to renew his sister’s faith in him, win his brother-in-law’s trust, and finally get to see his daughter Zoe, again.

“Crab Trap” will premiere Monday, March 6 at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. at The Grand 14 movie theater at The Market Commons. Immediately following each screening, the producers Chip White and Jason McRae Smith, and actors Danny Vinson and Rebecca Koon will host a question and answer session to discuss the film.
