Six songs you need to know for the 2017 Boathouse Summer Concert Series

The Boathouse announced its 2017 Sunday Funday concert lineup. This unique concert venue provides free, all-ages concerts in an outdoor setting where attendees can actually pull their boat up to the venue and listen to the music play.

Here are some of the concerts that will be coming to the Boathouse on Sunday nights. (We caution, since the shows are free and all ages, parking can get a little rough. The venue encourages attendees to get to the concerts early. They also don’t advertise when the concerts start, but usually its late afternoon). Here are the five songs we think you need to know if you go to “the best backyard at the beach.”

April 9 Rusted Root – “Send Me on My Way”

The Boathouse is all about experience – the food, the beer, the outdoors and the music. We can’t wait to hear this song as we enjoy a cold beer and a warm breeze.

April 23 Fortunate Youth – “Burn One”
These guys came to the short-lived Carolina Session of California Roots. Feel that reggae-vibe at the outdoor venue and (listen to) “Burn One.”

May 14 Puddle of Mudd – “She Hates Me”
Probably the most popular song that will be played on stage this summer (so far).

June 25 Badfish – What I Got”
There’s a reason these guys are always here and there’s a reason we walk a huuuuuge parking lot to the Boathouse to see these guys. They’re amazing. Learn some of the best Sublime songs (these guys are a tribute band) and prepare to sing along – like to this one:

July 23 LFO – “Summer Girls”
What would summer in Myrtle Beach be without a 90s band rocking an outdoor venue? Though this song in catchy, the interest on our end is to hear a group of 30- and 40-somethings singing “I like girls that wear Abercrombie and Fitch.”

July 30 The LACS – “Kickin’ Up Mud”
It’s summer. Sometimes you just need to have fun with a song, and The LACs (loud A$$ Crackers) did just that with this one.

Honorable Mention
May 7 – Ballyhoo! We were drunk when we wrote this. Ballyhoo! will be amazing. Learn their top songs.
July 2 – The Clarks – Born Too Late
Aug. 6 – All songs of Jerry Fest
Aug. 20 – Tucker Beathard – Mama and Jesus
Aug. 27 – Donovan Frenkenrieter – Free
