The Myrtle Beach SC Boardwalk gets decked out for the holidays

The boardwalk in Myrtle Beach SC is getting in on the holiday spirit!

The 1.2-mile boardwalk in downtown Myrtle Beach is decked out with holiday lights that keep the area shining even after the sun goes down. There are also some events planned on the boardwalk for some family fun through the rest of this year:

Dec. 20 near 9th Avenue

Noon-4 p.m. | Take pictures with Santa with the ocean as your back drop. There will also be camel rides and a Polar Express train.

2-5 p.m. | Live Entertainment on the OCEANFRONT BAR AND GRILL stage:

  • Soloist Michael Frances at 2 p.m.
  • Husband and wife duet The Rileys at 3 p.m.
  • Boardwalk Elvis at 4 p.m.

Dec. 20 at Plyler Park

2-8:30 p.m. |  Live Entertainment on the I LOVE SUGAR stage:

  • Carolina Vocals under the direction of Kathleen Seymour from 2-4:30 p.m.
  • Melissa Porshia Band at 5 p.m.
  • Next Level Showcase Talents under the direction of Pamela Cannon-Cook from 6-7:30 p.m.
  • Jeremiah from 7:30-8:15 p.m.

Dec. 21 at Plyler Park

5 p.m. | Scavenger Hunt for family fun. There will be prizes with special offers and free hot chocolate with cookies.

6 p.m. | Candlelight Service with local churches and choirs with a nativity

Dec. 27 at 9th Avenue North

Noon-4 p.m. | Take pictures with Santa with the ocean as your back drop. There will also be camel rides and a Polar Express train.

2 p.m. | Santa Paws “suit your pooch”  dog contest benefiting the Grand Strand Humane Society. Registration is from 2-2:30 p.m. The parade down the boardwalk is from 2:30-3 p.m. The four judges will announce the winners at 3:15 p.m. and give away more than $300 in prizes.

2-7 p.m. | Live entertainment on the OCEANFRONT BAR AND GRILL stage

Dec. 27 at Plyler Park

  • Soul Purpose, a contemporary Christian band, at 2 p.m. and again from 4-5:30 p.m.
  • Jeremiah with Next Level Showcase from 6-8 p.m.
