From one end to the other, the MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet is filled with restaurants offering amazing food, and despite being the seafood capital of our state, there’s plenty more to enjoy.
Though the weather has finally cooled, things are only heating up at Bovine’s Wood Fired Specialties with all the food and drinks needed to get your winter nights started right. Walking toward the restaurant from the parking lot or the deck has many people smelling the air as it changes from salty to smoky. The hard wood floors and walls compliment the restaurant’s theme, and though it can become loud when it’s crowded, Bovine’s retains a classy and casual atmosphere.
During the summer, the bar area opens out onto the deck, and docks are filled with boats of hungry customers. And though cold weather has us in its grips and the dining room is enclosed, Bovine’s still has a bustling crowd during the early evening hours. The secret to their success in the off season is the Happy Hour that has locals returning week after week.
Already known for their wood fired pizzas and delicious steaks, Bovine’s fills to the brim on Mondays, when the restaurant has their $5 pizza specials. Because of the popularity, there is often a long wait both to be seated and to actually receive the food. But there is always quality guaranteed in everything that comes out of the kitchen, so the wait is worth it.
Other weekly deals include Tuesdays when all entrees are $5 off and Wednesdays, which are dedicated to prime rib. Bovine’s shakes this up a bit on Thursdays when they offer free tacos with every Happy Hour drink ordered. Even if one of the specials doesn’t interest you, the full menu and Happy Hour eats offer plenty to enjoy. Most entrees on the dinner menu are served with sides and a trip to the salad bar.
Guests are also welcome to add more sides, even crab legs, for additional prices. The Happy Hour menu has great appetizers that are easy to share between the party, like a half pound of firecracker shrimp or a stack of ribs with meat the falls right off the bone. Greg’s Beef Tips are deliciously tender and come topped in blue cheese and caramelized onions that make for an amazing combination of flavors.
Bovine’s has a lot to offer no matter what season it is, and the bustling crowd proves the restaurant is doing something right. People may come to the MarshWalk looking for good seafood, and Bovine’s shakes things up a bit by offering not only that but some of the best pizza and steak around.
