A change in 2017 for the popular Halloween on the MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet

Ghosts, goblins and ghouls of all ages will fill the Marsh at this year’s annual “Halloween on the MarshWalk.” The Marshwalk’s longest running and most successful event, Halloween on the MarshWalk brings fun and prizes to the whole family! All eight of the MarshWalk restaurants will have great food and drink specials.

Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with Trick-or-Treating along the MarshWalk for the kids. The annual Children’s Costume Contest is at 6 p.m. in front of Drunken Jack’s at the Pirate Statue. Prizes will be awarded for the Most Creative, best Group, funniest, and Scariest for kids ages three and up. Kids ages two and under will compete for the Awes Applause award. Prizes include trophies, ribbons, and candy bags.

The Adult Costume Contest will begin at 7 p.m. Over $3,500 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the top costumes. Categories include People’s Choice, best Duo/Group, Best Individual, Big & Bulky, Murrells Inlet Themed and Honorable Mention. Final Judging and the Award Ceremony will take place at Drunken Jack’s at 10:30 p.m.

  • This year there will be no wristbands. Everyone participating will pick up a stamp card at any of the restaurants and start their journey there. Throughout the night your card will get stamped at each restaurant to make sure you have been to all the judging stations. You will not be entered into the grand prizes unless your card is presented and has been stamped from all locations.
  • All rules and regulations will be posted on the back of your card. We are doing this in hope of eliminating the amount of trash left along the MarshWalk after the event.
