Final regular season home games for Myrtle Beach Pelicans; Ticket redemption date set

The local boys of summer have had their eyes on fall since June, when they won the Carolina League Southern Division title for the first half of the season. The Myrtle Beach Pelicans have one more regular season, weekend homestand. The Class-A Advanced affiliate for the reigning World Series champion Chicago Cubs will take on the Carolina Mudcats (aspiring Milwaukee Brewers), at 7:05 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Aug. 25-26 and 3:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at Field, at 21st Avenue North and Robert M. Grissom Parkway.

The Pelicans are also hosting a ticket redemption day Aug. 25. Any unused ticket from a Myrtle Beach Pelican home game this season can be used for admission to the Aug. 25 game.

Taking aim at an unprecedented, third straight league Mills Cup Championship title, the Pelicans are playoff bound for a seventh straight year. Home play for the divisional round series is Sept. 8, and if necessary, Sept. 9-10. If the Birds reach the finals, they would play host again on Sept. 14, and if necessary, Sept. 15-16. The winner in both series needs to win 3 of 5 games, and first pitch for all home playoff games is 6:05 p.m. Buy tickets at 843-918-6000, 877-918-8499 or
