Ingram Planetarium shows ‘The Farthest – Voyager in Space’ for free this weekend

See a documentary, “The Farthest – Voyager in Space” – about two spacecraft, Voyagers 1 and 2, which have spent 40 years in orbit as of Aug. 20 – before it airs nationally on PBS (www.pbs.org/the-farthest).

Free screenings, with limited seating, are at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, and 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, at Ingram Planetarium, 7625 High Market St., Sunset Beach, N.C..

Also, through Sept. 4, the site’s Sky Theater shows are in summer mode, with each show $9.50 for ages 13-61, $8.50 ages 62 and older, $7.50 ages 3-12, and free ages 2 and younger..

— Mondays-Fridays – “Eclipse: 2017” at 11 a.m., for half-price admission; and “The Sky Tonight!” noon.

— Mondays-Saturdays – “Earth, Moon & Sun” 1 p.m., “Undiscovered Worlds” 2 p.m., “From Earth to Universe” 3 p.m., “Back to the Moon for Good” 4 p.m., and “The Sky Tonight!” 5 p.m.

— Rotation of laser shows – 7 and 8 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

— “Starwatch” telescope observations, 9 p.m. Wednesdays, for free.
