The Myrtle Beach area is gearing up to either end 2017 or start 2018 with snow showers, according to the National Weather Service.
On Thursday, the forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with highs reaching the low 40s, but there is that possibility of some ice overnight.
“There is a chance of freezing rain along the coast starting Thursday evening to around sunrise Friday,” said Donald Hawkins, of the National Weather Service, via email. “Confidence remains low for this event as the numerous models are not coming into good agreement.”
Friday’s high should reach into the upper 40s.
Saturday is calling for partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid 50.
The temperature is set to drop again Sunday to a high of 40 Sunday.
Snow showers are expected Monday as highs will only reach the mid 30s.
